"Soaring Memories" custom order part 2 of 2

As the second part of this order, I again used baby clothes to create this quilt. I choose the green highlights to represent his birthstone, the emerald. The top edge binding, the strip between the blue strips, and the airplanes are made from the baby clothes. Center square uses his receiving blanket and displays his name and date of birth. Close up of top left corner showing triangle edging and baby clothes top edging.

Close up of the little mini airplanes that are embroidered into the blue strips.

"I got the amazing package when I got home tonight from the jubilee. Mia was so excited that her brother has a quilt just like hers and dominic wanted to snuggle it up to his dirty nasty self. So I told him bath first them snuggle. He is still in his crib with him a twin size quilt packed in with him. HILARIOUS!
Btw- your family smell / detergent smells so good. can I tell you that it melts me to smell it when I opened the box. I just know that you’re my kind of girl with the way your home smells.
Have I mentioned a thank you yet?
Thank you!" Jessica May 2010

"Baby Love" (custom order part 1 of 2)

This is one of two twin size quilts that have very special meanings. My client had saved her son and daughters baby clothes and put her faith in me to use them to make a memory quilt for each of her children. Baby Love is the daughter's quilt. All of the hearts and the binding are made from her baby clothes. In addition, the binding is hand stitched. Her daughter's birthstone is a ruby so I used the red and gold fabrics as the backdrop to highlight the clothing hearts. This was also a first for me in creating the scalloped edge, but I felt something special had to be done to really demonstrate what a beautiful gift my client is giving her daughter!"Words cannot express how beautiful the quilt turned out. Worth every penny. My husband and I sat that evening and pointed to each piece and said remember this, remember that? Thank you so much for your hardwork and the love that you put into this." The Meadow~ A Twilight inspired rag quote quilt (CUSTOM ORDER)

These 2 pictures are of the quilt in it's permanent home

"My 12 year old daughter has been wanting Twilight bedding for awhile. Most of it looks pretty cheap/cheesy when I've seen certain pieces and it did not go with her color scheme in her room. So, I discovered Rachel's site when an Edward Cullen quilt was posted on a Team Twilight site on Facebook. The minute I saw her site I knew she would be the perfect person to help me veer from the black and white norm you so often see with Twilight. My daughters room is purple and there was no way she was going to let that change (nor did I really want it to). I solicited Rachel's help to create something Twilight but still girly...I wanted to stay away from the ominous feeling sometimes felt in Twilight. I sent her a picture of my daughters area rug that somewhat resembled a meadow and Rachel took it from there!

She is a true professional and was a pleasure to work with. She kept me in the loop the whole time...sending me pictures when something was completed. Even if it was just a newly embroidered quote or flower. It was so exciting to watch it come together piece by piece to the finished product. A project with very specific tastes/requests like this does not come without hiccoughs and she worked her way out of them to come up with an even better look/outcome than we had anticipated. It truly is an heirloom! Thanks for taking such great pride in your work Rachel. It was refreshing to see that there really is such a thing as customer service...something that has been lacking in our country for quite awhile!"

"Wow, wow, wow, wow!!!! Pictures do not do this quilt justice (or probably any of your quilts). It is more beautiful than I imagined. It just made me cry. I didn't want to put it back in the box to wrap it up for Christmas. I just wanted to stare at it. A true work of art! And the vibrancy is not captured as well in pictures. The purple fabric that the butterflies are on is absolutely stunning. In pics it looks almost white. And the detail is unreal! I never expected something that looked that beautiful to actually be so fluffy and comfy too. That could present a problem when trying to rouse her out of bed. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I couldn't think of a more appropriate name than Quilts From The Heart."

We'll Be Watching

I choose the wolf fabric based on the multiple fur colors shown--just as the Quiluete wolf pack doesn't all have the same fur color when they shift. Backside fabric is a very soft fleece that shows wolf faces emerging from the trees.
